Zone G - Ottawa Valley

Someone asked me a while back how long I had been flying model airplanes. As I tought about that question, I was amazed to be able to say 34 years. It just proves that time really does fly when you're having fun. Like many of my vintage, I started out in modelling with balsa and tissue rubber band and cox control line models. My first RC plane was a top flite P51. Definitively not a trainer, but it got me hooked and led to my involvement with my first club. This club steered me in the right direction. I have fond memories from many years ago when my instructor tried to wrestle the transmitter out of my hands as I yelled:“I got it, I got it”- I probably didn’t. And, now as an instructor, I think the Buddy Box is one of the best inventions ever. After taking some time off to raise a family, I have returned to Modeling with a passion. I enjoy building, flying and spending time with fellow modellers. I am blessed with a very supportive wife and kids who enjoy spending time at the flying field (every once in a while). I look forward to the opportunity to serve the members of Zone G, MAAC and the membership in general.
