Thanksgiving Thermal Duration

Event Description

On Saturday October, 10 2015, the Southern Ontario Glider Group (SOGGI) will host a Thanksgiving thermal duration contest for line-launched and electric powered sailplanes (ALES). Sailplane classes will be determined on the day according to contestants planes.

Registration starts at 9:00 am, pilots briefing at 9:30, contest starts at 10:00.

Proof of MAAC membership is required. Pilots from other clubs, extra winches, hi-starts and shade tents also welcome. Pilots bringing winches/hi-starts etc. are requested to please arrive by 8:30 am to set up equipment.

There will be no entry fees.

The contest will be held at the SOGGI Trinity Church Road/Chippewa Road field, Binbrook ON. The field entrance is on the west side of Trinity Church Road, 0.4 km south of Chippewa Road. Please contact Contest Director Andy Meysner, 905 279 0173, [email protected] for any further information.

Rain day will be Sunday October 11. If weather is unsuitable this will be agreed at the field on the day, or by email if the weather forecast causes postponement beforehand.
