SLAM Fall Classic Float Fly

Event Description

The largest float fly in The Pacific Northwest, hosted by the Shuswap Lake Aero Modelers (SLAM), takes place on the usually calm and picturesque waters of Shuswap Lake at Sandy Point Resort. The Resort is located 5 km west of Salmon Arm, BC. Registration begins Tuesday September 5 and flying continues throught Sunday, September 10 when awards and raffle prizes will be presented. A retrieval boat will be provided and frequency board will be set up for the duration of the event. Other features include pilot's draws, pie sale, 50/50 draws and a corn roast. Camping is available on site through Sandy Point Campgrounds, but no pets are allowed by the campground. The splash down fee for the week is $15.00. The event has averaged over 90 pilots in the last 10 years, with all kinds of float planes from electric to turbine power, so don't miss this must attend event.
