Over the past several months, MAAC has been actively participating in Transport Canada’s consultation on their Notice of Proposed Amendment to the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs)(NPA 2026-005), which addresses three important areas for recreational RPAS and traditional aeromodelling in Canada: Community-Based Organizations (CBOs), Remote Identification, and Designated RPAS Airspace. The public consultation period closed September 9, 2026, and MAAC has now formally submitted its response to Transport Canada. Our submission includes a detailed proposed CBO operating framework together with a responsibility matrix defining how responsibilities could be shared between Transport Canada, NAV CANADA, a recognized CBO such as MAAC,…...
